Who Are We?
The Beaconsdale Blue Marlins are a co-ed summer swim team based at Beaconsdale Pool (18 Ferguson Lane, NN, VA 23601). We proudly compete in the Greater Peninsula Swimming Association (GPSA). https://www.gpsaswimming.org/
The GPSA features Red, White, and Blue divisions, with teams competing against others in their divisions. For the 2026 season, Beaconsdale is proud to compete in the Blue Division alongside the Riverdale Rays, Wythe Wahoos, Elizabeth Lakes Tideriders, James River River Ratz, and Village Green Patriots. At the end of the season, swimmers who achieved any City Meet qualifying times earn the opportunity to compete in the City Meet, bringing together the best swimmers from all divisions for an exciting championship event. This will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
A Beaconsdale Pool membership is required to become a member of the swim team. https://beaconsdalepool.weebly.com/membership
Team membership includes all practices and meets, ribbons, a team shirt and swim cap, and our end-of-season banquet—highlighted by individual “Snarlin Marlin” superlative awards and a beloved end-of-season photo slideshow that captures the amazing moments and fond memories of the season (often bringing a few happy tears).
