FAQs
- How do I become a member of the Beaconsdale Blue Marlins Swim Team? Joining the team is easy! Simply complete the online registration, secure your pool membership, and submit payment before the first practice. Don’t forget to check the meet schedule and sign up for your volunteer shifts—we can’t do it without you!
- Is payment due when registering? Payments are due before the first day of practice. Please contact one of the team managers, Colleen or Cyndy, with any payment or registration questions via email: [email protected].
- I do not live in the neighborhood. Can my kids still join Beaconsdale Blue Marlins? Yes! To join the swim team, all swimmers must have a current pool membership with Beaconsdale Pool Association. A family stock or summer membership is preferred, but individual stock or summer memberships are available for single-child households. Please see membership options by clicking this link to the Beaconsdale Pool Association membership website. https://beaconsdalepool.weebly.com/
- What are the registration fees? Registration fees are $75 for the first child, $60 for the second, and $35 for each additional child, with a family maximum of $205. Pool membership fees are required but not included. Payments are due before the first practice, but if you need a payment arrangement, please reach out to Colleen or Cyndy—we’re happy to help.
- When will practice start? The season is set to start on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. See the practice schedule for dates and times.
- What is the anticipated practice schedule? Practices run Monday–Friday: ~30 minutes for beginners and 1 hour for advanced swimmers. Sessions are held in the evening before school ends and move to mornings once summer break begins. The season runs May 26–July 31.
- Will there be meets? YES! The team will participate in 5 regular-season meets and 1–2 friendship meets this summer. See the Schedule tab for details.
- What are the ability requirements to join? No experience needed—beginners welcome! All you need is a willingness to jump in and have fun! Summer swim is the perfect way to learn and build skills. Swimmers ages 4–18 (as of June 1) are eligible to join. To compete in meets, swimmers should be able to swim the length of the pool independently by June 18—but those still building confidence can participate with help from an older swimmer.
- Are there volunteer requirements? Yes, please and thank you kindly. Our team runs on volunteer power! Each family is required to help at every meet, with one volunteer per swimmer preferred. Bring a parent, grandparent, auntie, uncle, cousin, or friend—it takes a village, and everyone is welcome to join the fun!
